Petrol bomb hurled at community radio station

Parasi, Nov 26: An unidentified group hurled a petrol bomb at the Community radio station ‘Radio Parasi’ of Nawalparasi district at 10 pm last night, the radio said. 

In the attack a motorbike (Lu 18 Pa 4009) parked on the station’s office premises caught fire. The motorbike was completely destroyed in the fire. 

Before the attack, a threat was issued from a mobile phone with number 9857045894. Radio Chairman Suman Gopal Acharya has condemned the attack. 

Radio Parasi has shut down its service for indefinite period following the attack. The broadcast was discontinued for indefinite period from the morning in the backdrop of repeated and continuing threats and no security for the radio station, the radio’s Station Manager Meghraj Gautam said. RSS
